En este mes de febrero, los periodistas comunitarios de tu voz digital platicaron con la primer cooperativa liderada por mujeres migrantes: Maricela Ramirez, Susana Espino, Angelica de la Cruz y Virginia Cantu, fundadoras de la cooperativa “Abq Assisted en Comunidad” quienes comparten más sobre el trabajo de la cooperativa, los servicios que ofrecen y las necesidades de cuidadores para una de las poblaciones de mayor crecimiento en el Estado: personas de la tercera edad.

Welcome to another compelling segment of “Nuestra voz,” a production of the Community Journalism Group “Tu voz digital” in collaboration with Raices Collective. Our mission is to uplift the narratives of the migrant community, shedding light on their stories of resilience and resistance, while also illuminating the immigrant experience in the enchanting land we call home.

This February, our community journalists had the privilege of engaging with the pioneering cooperative led by migrant women: Maricela Ramirez, Susana Espino, Angelica de la Cruz, and Virginia Cantu, the visionary founders of “Abq Assisted en Comunidad.” They graciously share insights into the cooperative’s mission, the vital services they provide, and the pressing needs of caregivers within one of our state’s fastest-growing demographics: seniors.
